CALLING ALL BLUES MUSICIANS.                                                                                                                                                                                       The New Orleans Blues Society will be holding the local competition for the International Blues Challenge SUNDAY AUGUST 30TH AT TRUE SOUTH (542 S. Norman C. Francis Pkwy,) Competition will start at 2 pm                                                                                       Alternating between Solo/Duo and Bands. One very tight 30 minutes set . Back line will be provided. Call or text Laura at 719-337-6691 to sign up. (Limited slots). * see rules below*** You must be a paid member of the New Orleans Blues Society. The members who perform must be the same ones that would be going Memphis if you win. Local musicians only , no out of town bands or musicians can compete. The Annual International Blues Challenge (IBC) in Memphis, enforcing strict rules on eligibility, act size, and performance times. Competitors must win a local affiliate-society event to enter, are limited to two consecutive years of participation, and face strict time limits—typically 25 minutes per set—with point penalties for going over or under time

The LEOPARD HOUNDS band presents on their debit cd a unique change of pace, playing

their jumped-up Blues-Rock that ties them into their NEW ORLEANS “Bywater”

neighborhood. This four piece group, with flashy guitar solos and pulsating drum pattens

gets the locals dancing and their mojos working. Sometimes, when the hour is late and the

booze is going freely to your head the HOUNDS sound like the ghosts of old bluesmen

arguing with the devil over the last bottle of whiskey.
