WHAT WE ARE ALL ABOUT
*Keeping the Blues and Americana music alive and thriving through our newsletter, website, calendar of events and membership directory.
*Supporting local musicians, club promoters and event planners by helping them make the right connections within our network, providing volunteers and funding efforts which support the Blues in New Orleans and surrounding areas. Our membership is comprised of those passionate about Blues and Americana music, ranging from Blues fans to professional musicians.
*Expanding awareness of Blues as an art form indigenous to America through teaching via Blues in Schools workshops, after-school educational offerings, and film and lectures about blues history, teaching both young and old about the history and culture of the Blues.
The Blues World in New Orleans had been lacking guidance and direction for our unique musicians for a long time. The New Orleans Blues Society has stepped up, filled the void and provided "THE N.O. BLUES BIBLE'' for our community of fans. All I can say is "THANK YOU, THANK YOU" for keeping me and other Blues lovers abreast of the fine musicians and true blues venues in the Big Easy."
